DreamWeaver
I don't usually do this but here goes my rant about dreamweaver.
I'm sick to death of this program and I've hardly used it, compared to the rest of the adobe suite.
I hate it! I create work I'm proud of and it crashes!
Why can't anything go right for me when I'm really happy and proud of the work I'm doing.
I've counted now and I've had to redo three pages of the website 3 times over because of it randomly crashing, losing all my work. And most of the time its hours worth of work!
I started my website at the start of Christmas break, as I was quite eager to experiment with the program but I soon learned it was my new found enemy.
It was wasting my time and wasting my energy.
I gave myself a break from the program and started looking into UCAS.
Oh, and that website drives me mad.
It hasn't somehow linked my email address to the account so I'm having to go all around to find my password or reset it.
Ugh, I've had probably the most stressful Christmas ever.
I thought it was meant for relaxing?

Service Aid Logo
I and the rest of my class have been given a live brief to re design a logo for a Service Aid that's branching off from Ozone Fitness.
Here are some of the designs I've been working on:

Rob Blair
Just had a visit from Rob Blair and he's informed me that Danny Parker has seen my email but he's been very busy with meetings so he will get back to me as soon as possible.
It's exciting news but now I'm getting anxious about what it's going to entail.
Will I stand out like a sore thumb? Will I be thrown in the deep end and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing? I'll soon find out.
Helen is a designer that I've looked into through their company website and she works along side Rick, so I'm hoping I'm able to see how they work as a team to create designs.
I would be happy to work with anyone but Rob, Helen or Rick would be a favourite.
My ideal learning process whilst being there would be to just stand and watch with a note pad and camera.
I like to watch and let things soak in instead of panicking and running around and forgetting what I've actually done.
Eeep! I'm excited but very nervous.

LONDON 2013
After a long coach and train journey we made it to London safely and had a fantastic visit.
We first off visited Pentagrams office and had a presentation created by Dominic Lippa.
Doms 5 things to go by:
1. Work with people you like
2.Keep things simple
3. Experiment with things
4. Be generous
5. Work with people who are better than you
House of cards/Product package :)
I really liked the look of that design
''Rationale to why I've done it'
Supporting your design with research
Good clients = Good work
The first night we visited Pentagram and had the fortunate and also appreciated opportunity to have a drink and a chat with Dominic Lippa.
Q: 'What would you say is your weakness?' A:'Wow, that's caught me off guard. What a great question. I've never been asked that before.' .. 'I think I'd have to say I don't think into things enough'
Q: 'What has been the most random experience on a job you've been involved in?'
A: 'I drove in a bulletproof car in Saudi Arabia once and I was called the white man in the bulletproof car' 'That was different'
He emphasized the work he does is the work worth doing rather than the work most paid.
Every piece of work he creates is portfolio ready instead of 'Oh it was an alright design but at least it paid well.'
Notes taken at Pentagram:
-Not just graphics
-Pyramid
-Owner, Creative Designers, Junior Designers etc
-Sometimes share clients
-Share of production money
-40 Years old
-3 New women partners
-Haiti Poster
-small personal projects
-Book cover
-Do jobs whatever they pay
-Do jobs because they like it
-Tate Modern - Collaborated
- Lot of cultural work
-Not driven by commercial work
-Don't advertise
-Don't do new business
-People come to them
-Value books, ideas, concepts instead of booklets/magazines
-City Bank is the biggest spread
-Work should speak for itself
NIGHT TIME
Towards the end of the night we as the second years headed to the nearby bowling club, where some of us got a little bit too drunk.
No names ;)
SECOND DAY
The second day we also visited McCann's which I really enjoyed because the building itself wasn't all that attractive to look at from the outside.
However, once we stepped inside it was so intriguing and spacious.
We were taken on a tour around the building and it was so interesting to explore.
I'd absolutely love to work there.
I'd absolutely love to work there.
There were an editors section of the building and they were in little rooms that looked like recording studios almost.
I think that's where I'd aim to achieve as it was so 'me.
Everyone in the building seemed to get along considering they all were all doing different jobs.
ROB RYAN
The second years as a group decided to spend there last few spare hours exploring London and visiting Rob Ryan's gallery.
I really like Rob Ryan's work and I think it's something spectacular, so seeing it in person was something special.
I just wish there was a gift shop or a audio headset to have more of an experience to it but none the less it was worthwhile.
